Fight - Finished

Fight - Finished

I spent the early hours of this morning finishing off Halo 3. It really was rather good. Its definitely the best game in the series...

I didn't realise how good the graphics and visual design was until I tried out the theatre mode. You can watch replays of your games, including online gaming... It lets you get up really close to the models and take screenshots. I'd recommend pulling back from the action and using the zoom to get some forced perspective.

Anyway... I had fun :)

Father and Son Education - Monkey Class

Father and Son Education - Monkey Class

Quick update for the Monkey fanciers out there. Monkey and Monkey are getting on just fine. I could tell from the look in Monkey's eyes when they first met tha they were going to be great friends. It almost brought a tear to my eye.

Monkey has took it upon himself to be the train Monkey in the arts of Monkeying. So far he has covered:

1) Monkey Wrenching (foo fighters)
2) Monkey Dancing (Clint Eastwood - Gorillaz)
3) Monkey Magic (Monkey Magic)
4) Salesmanship (Al & Monkey via you tube)

The wee guy is a fast learner...

Blue Monday Monkey

Blue Monkey

Still learning this off-camera flash photography thing. The picture I've posted is pretty simple right? It still took me forty minutes to set up! It was a useful learing experience though. It can be quite difficult to control light in small environments with small subjects.

For this shot, I put Monkey on the low table that houses my DVD player and Amp (which reminds me I need to replace that with a cheap-o surround amp if possible). The table is right up against my living room wall between my rubbish bin and a stack of shelves for DVDs. After about 35 minutes of experimentation, I finally managed to get the right balance of blue background and amber foreground. One problem remained - the amber light hitting Monkey was reflecting onto the right hand side of the background. My intention was for the RHS to be DARK. Damn. The only option would be to move everything further away from the wall. Some day I might actually try it...

As zefrank says, "Valentines day is like a box of cat-poopy"

I'll leave you to interpret that as you wish.
